Too Close for Comfort

During my Kidney Stone Episode over the weekend, a co-worker was very supportive. He happens to be a urologist, so that came in handy. He said after I passed the stone, I should "come in for a complete workup." Well, I did.
The stone passed without incident, and I followed the advice of my urology buddy.
I did not get enough information about what would be involved in a complete workup.
Let's just say I like the guy, but I don't like him that much. Now that the "office visit" and the completely unanticipated physical exam are behind me, I'm guess I glad I went through with it. Now, I have to pick a 24-hour period during which I will collect all of my (how shall I put this?) liquid stream in a plastic jug.
I've sat next to this guy at lunch at least fifty times, but the noonday meal may never be the same.
There are certain things best left to strangers.
I did follow orders and brought the offending stone into the office. He looked at it and said, "Yep. that would cause some pain." At least my physical suffering has been validated.

D.. glad you're feeling better. So far I've been able to avoid "the rock", but the leg / surgery thing was no (forgive me for this) walk in the park. Oh, and I agree with the other poster, that cat is huge.

Please do take pics. If you go to flickr and type in Jerry Golden Haughton, you'll see how I documented dad's medical adventures. Who knows how exciting this will be for your future great, great, greats?

While I'm off wallowing in my own miseries, you're off passing a kidney stone.

Sorry to hear the news, and sorry to be coming to the table so late on this one.

Hope you're feeling better.

And both sides of my face showed the pain vividly, if I am to believe close observers. I'm back to 100%. Thanks.
