I've been on the air a lot in the past 72 hours. Today, I hosted "Sports Talk" on KEEL radio, and of course I called the Arena Football playoff game Saturday night. I'm here to self-report an incident.
As the game was going down to the wire, I felt it was important to give the dozens of listeners a real sense of what was going on. The clock became a factor. At one point I said, "The BattleWings will have to run a play here. The game clock is at 25 seconds, but the play cock is at fifteen."
My broadcast partner did not notice. Hopefully, neither did anyone else, particularly the FCC. See you in prison.

Well the only thing you'd have gotten a fine for is if you had your "fly open" when you said that. Then again you could always claim "wardrobe malfunction"...
CBS's fine was overturned recently...so I think you're in the clear! Oh..that's right..nevermind...this is raidEE-OOH!
....and one more thing...
I recall a time when we were doing our "ins & outs" for PM MAGAZINE where my co-host Becky and I would chat nonsensically about the most mundane of things to fill time.
We were doing this live to tape and we were running out of light and our staging of this particular shot ...so we had just one-take...
and leading into a promo of the next night's program.
At the time Becky was supposed to say: "Well, Chuck I see we have a great week AHEAD..." to which I replied: "We sure do Becky...and I'm looking forward to it..."
Okay... for those of you with smutty minds...I'll let you figure out just exactly what she said. (hint: add a common preposition and lose the "A"...and you should get "it"...hahaha!)
The end of the story was... no one caught the malapropism...even in postproduction...and so it went out on the air in the final assembled show.
Ahhh the memories.... we now return to our regular program already now in progress!
